Committee Structure
The AMRC consist of eight market specific and four operational committees, made up of AMRC Members. These committees communicate and discuss key issues going on in the perspective markets.
Market Specific Committees
ASSOCIATIONS COMMITTEE
Consists of representatives from trade associations that share an interest in the motor vehicle industry. Periodically provides AMRC members with information about the services and publications of each association member.
ECONOMIC COMMITTEE
Consists of representatives from AMRC member companies. The goal of the economic committee is to develop a overlying economic vision that is utilized by the other AMRC committees in developing their consensus forecast and information.
MATERIALS COMMITTEE
Analyzes and understands current and future vehicular component material requirements in the powertrain, body, chassis, trim, electrical and electronics segments.
COMMERCIAL VEHICLE COMMITTEE
Develop consensus forecasts for medium and heavy duty truck sales and production. Review economic and legislative activity and evaluate its impact on the heavy duty truck market.
COMMERCIAL VEHICLE AFTERMARKET COMMITTEE
Heavy Duty Aftermarket Committee Charter is to serve AMRC member companies by developing consensus forecasts aftermarket sales of a broad selection of product lines as detailed in the objectives; as well as forecasting the population of class 6, 7, and 8 vehicles in operation. OBJECTIVES: 1. Evaluate vehicles in use by segment, the size of the heavy duty aftermarket for selected product lines, and trends in the channels of distribution within the heavy duty aftermarket. 2. Serve as a forum for the discussion of the events and factors driving the industry. 3. Document and evaluate impact of quality changes and advances in technology. 4. Present to AMRC members, on a semi-annual basis, information developed by the committee. 5. Organize and conduct seminars as appropriate, and be a repository for heavy duty aftermarket studies.
LIGHT VEHICLE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT COMMITTEE
Produces an economic outlet based on a consensus of leading economists and analyzes business conditions affecting light vehicle OE manufacturers. Also produces a long-range calendar year forecast of U.S., Canadian, and Mexican passenger car and light truck sales and production.
LIGHT VEHICLE AFTERMARKET COMMITTEE
Consensus forecasts include, vehicles in operation for U.S. in total and for select passenger car segments, average miles driven for vehicles in operation and total U.S. retail aftermarket for major product lines in units and dollars.
OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLE COMMITTEE
Researches industrial markets in order to develop consensus forecasts of selected self-propelled construction, agricultural, and turf equipment markets. Reviews economic and legislative activity that will impact the off-highway vehicle market.
RAIL COMMITTEE
Researches industrial markets in order to develop consensus forecasts of the Rail industry include locomotives, freight cars, etc. This is a new committee for AMRC.
Organizational Committees
MARKET RESEARCH & PLANNING COMMITTEE
Helps AMRC members in finding and evaluating automotive market research services, and promotes member skills in conducting research and developing strategic marketing plans. The committee evaluates the technical validity of syndicated or published automotive research and advises the membership of committee findings. Publishes a directory of automotive research and planning sources and a manual detailing the product lines of AMRC member companies.
PUBLIC RELATIONS / INFORMATION SERVICES COMMITTEE
Committee is responsible for working with media and coordinating all printed materials, press releases, and communication tools.Provides AMRC members with news and other information related to all Council activities. Maintains the armc.org website.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
Committee is responsible for recruiting and maintaining members.
