Release: Commercial and Light Vehicle Consensus Forecast Released
Savannah,
Georgia, May 2007 – The Commercial Vehicle
and Light Vehicle Committees of the AMRC (Automotive Market
Research Council) announced their consensus sales forecasts
for 2007 at the semiannual AMRC conference in Savannah, Georgia.
Projections for 2007 Class 8 commercial trucks factory sales
is 219,137 with retail sales of 227,938, and 2007 Class 5-7
factory sales of 171,016 with retail sales of 208,888. These
forecasts were developed thru committee discussions and analysis
utilizing the expertise of the member companies. The Commercial
Vehicle Committee is comprised of industry leaders from 42
original engine manufacturers and suppliers.
The
Light Vehicle Committee which is comprised of industry leaders
from 18 automotive suppliers, 2007 projections include production
of 15.5 million North American light vehicles with sales at
19.4 million.
The Aftermarket Committee, comprised of 11 member companies,
follows market data for over 120 individual products in 11
categories, estimating market size and forecasting future
trends for each market. For 2007, products under review total
an estimated $40.9 billion at WD net price, with predicted
annual growth of about 1% in unit volume for 2008.

Release: The AMRC Presents Awards at Spring Conference
Savannah,
Georgia, May 2007 – The AMRC (Automotive Market
Research Council) presented numerous awards to outstanding
members at it semiannual conference in Savannah, Georgia.
Nancy Wang of Modine Manufacturing and AMRC Immediate Past
President, received the Broken Wheel Award for her leadership
as Council President over the past year.
Joe
Slivoski of International Truck & Engine Company was presented
the Lifetime Service Award for his work and dedication to
the AMRC for the past 22 years.
Al
Peinado of General Motors - Service Parts Organization, Garry
Stout of Emerson Electric/Mallory Controls and Jim Meil of
Eaton Corporation all received the Dedicated Service Award,
while Deanna Lorincz of American Iron and Steel Institute,
Darren Greene of BorgWarner, and Brian Rudolph of General
Motors - Service Parts Organization were all presented the
Outstanding Service Award.
